| It seems like this presidential election is pivotal one for America given the fact that our economy stinks, our earth is falling apart, and we're still in a war in Iraq that we've never should have started. I've probably watched more TV election coverage than all of my previous years combined. This led me to think about who should I vote for, but then I realized that it doesn't matter since I live in a very strong democrat state. If I vote for democrat, my vote gets watered down with all of the other democrat votes, and if I vote republican, it would seem insignificant as well. I talked to a friend of mine and he felt the same way too. Wouldn't my vote be more valuable if we got rid of the electoral college and had a strictly popular vote to decide? I think so. I feel like this is the most important presidential election that I can vote more, and my vote doesn't seem to matter. Maybe I should move to Florida. Anyone else's thoughts about this?

| I've got about 100 writing papers to grade, but this one calls for a timeout for me to blog about. Topic - Write about 3 of your favorite friends. V is my funniest friend ever. He once had his shoe stuck in the mud and ran without it. It was funny. Then he went to the supervisor (noon aid) and said, "Where's my shoe?" One time he said to the supervisor, "What's up homie?" My thoughts - What else is funny about this is that V is this tiny little dorky Asian kid. | | |
| This is one of my favorite books from childhood. I didn't read much as an elementary school kid, but this book's pictures were so captivating. The 3D effect sounds appropriate for this movie as well.

September 19, 2008
An
all-star voice cast headed by Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan, Andy
Samberg, Bruce Campbell, Mr. T, and Tracy Morgan, will bring to life
the characters of Sony Pictures Animation's Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,
set for release January 15, 2010, in mouthwatering 3D. The film is
written and directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord, based on the
bestselling children's book written by Judi Barrett and illustrated by
Ron Barrett. Pam Marsden is the producer.
In 2010, Columbia Pictures' and Sony Pictures Animation's Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
will be the most delicious event since macaroni met cheese. Inspired by
the beloved children's book, the film focuses on a town where food
falls from the sky like rain.
Bill Hader, star of "Saturday Night Live" and Superbad,
will voice Flint Lockwood, a young inventor who dreams of creating
something that will improve everyone's life. Anna Faris, who recently
turned heads as the star of the comedy hit The House Bunny,
takes on the role of Sam Sparks, a weathergirl covering the phenomenon
who hides her intelligence behind a perky exterior. James Caan plays
Tim Lockwood, Flint's technophobic father. Andy Samberg plays Brent,
the town bully who has plagued Flint since childhood. Bruce Campbell
plays Mayor Shelbourne, who figures out that Flint's invention can put
the town, and more importantly himself, on the map. Mr. T plays the
by-the-rules town cop Earl Devereaux, and Tracy Morgan takes on the
role of Earl's rule-breaking son, Cal.

| School's OUT! I'm off for seven weeks, the longest break I've had since college. This past year was by far more enjoyable than last year. Everything seemed so much easier. Teaching only one grade, having many of the same kids, and having a smaller class made it my best year so far. Random note: Will Lamar Odom EVER make a layup? | | |
| Last week I got an assignment back from a student that had a picture of a cannon that resembled something from Superbad. It was hilarious. Still debating on whether I should post it.
